Insurance claim process

How We Help

You just had to file an Insurance Claim, please take the time to contact us and discuss how the claim process works and how we are an invaluable asset when managing your claim. Running your business is time consuming enough, you need an expert in loss management to help guide you through this process.

Once Ilcoa, Inc. has been engaged as your Public Adjuster, we get right to work and make sure that all mitigation efforts are in place to protect both, your property from further damage and your financial recovery post loss. We prepare you for the road ahead and advise you on the different paths that can be taken. It is important to have a preliminary recovery plan during the loss time frame. Do you need a temporary facility to keep production flowing? How long will your business be down? What is the short, and long-term impact to your customers and your income?

Once we have a plan in place, we then get down to the nuts and bolts of your business. We start by reviewing your Insurance Policy and evaluating your coverages. Now it's time for the real work, we perform a damage assessment to your structure(s) that has made us a leader in our industry, the difference? We have extensive commercial construction knowledge, it's not just in theory, we have managed over $39M in insurance loss reconstruction, including a $7M Public School rebuild and a $4M commercial mixed-use project due to fire(s) from start to finish. You either understand what it will take to rebuild, or you are guessing.

We also perform a thorough inventory of all of your Business Personal Property (BPP). We assess the damaged from undamaged goods and set a value to all stock, fixtures and furnishings. Once the entire inventory of all of these items are complete, we submit them to your carrier as part of our Claims Package.

Next is time element, how long will it take to repair the property and for you to resume normal business operations? This includes your Business Interruption, Loss of Use, Loss of Rents and any Extra Expenses needed to mitigate the loss.

The next step is to present your entire insurance claim in a well-documented and thoughtful Claims Package. There are typically varying opinions and means and methods on how the scope of work, rebuild and value of the loss should be assessed. The Carrier hires independent consultants to protect their interests and you should do the same.

The final step is to restore your property and get your business back to full operations. It is critical that a complete understanding is established as to your settlement on the building and how repairs should be completed. There are many variables that your Policy could have, including, Actual Cash Value (ACV), Replacement Cost Value (RCV), Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC or Code Coverage) and Co-Insurance to name a few.

You really do need expert assistance when it comes to a Commercial Claim, please, take the time to set up a consultation with Ilcoa, Inc. and then decide for yourself what is best for you and your business or rental income property.
